Online Initiative & Poster Design
Project Brief
This online initiative and poster serves to create awareness and education around online scamming and in so doing make individuals more aware and awake to potential cyber scamming. Rigorous research, copywriting and the medium of digital photography are employed to explore the communication possibilities within the online and poster design discipline.
Deliverables
- A3 campaign poster
- WeTransfer background
- Up-to-you deliverable
Design Strategy
The  campaign aims to create awareness around the Crypto currency ‘PUMP & DUMP’ Investment Scams that are more frequently being endorsed by A-list celebrities such as Kim Kardashian, Paul Pierce and Floyd Mayweather to name a few.
These celebrities use their fame to hype up a new crypto currency as part of a larger scheme to defraud investors while profiting for themselves.

The campaign takes a humorous approach in creating awareness by commenting on the God-like ‘worship’ these celebrities receive. The look and feel is cheap, as if someone has made it in a print shop in ten minutes, and walks the line of not being mockery while pointing the finger at the viewer to make them question their financial decisions. The campaign asks the viewer to make a conscious insight into who they allow themselves to be influenced by.
Redo
Changes were made to the WeTransfer background to greater align with the rest of the campaign. The redesign portrays the fraudulence of Crypto investment scams by overtly displaying the coin as a holy item of great desirability.

Adjustments were also made to the vertical narrative with correction in grammar errors and updated mockup showing off the WeTransfer background.
Mood Board
The mood board highlights the plight of modern society, showing the God-like virtues people place on celebrities
without seeing the darker image beneath. The mood board uses religious imagery that inspired the concept and design of the campaign.
Design Concepts
Images show early design concepts that explore different mediums of delivering its message.
Typography
The Final Poster
The main poster uses a Christ-like image to comment on the way fans view celebrities. The ‘Holiness’ of the imagery, the cheap look of the ‘collage-esque’ text boxes and the Comic-Sans typography showcase the absurdness of it all. The message however is still serious and is shown in the satirical yet strong statement at the bottom.
The Poster Mockup
This mockup shows the poster in a relevant real life setting. The bus stop is a symbol of the working class, every day citizens of our civilisation who also happen to be the most influence-able and most likely to make poor financial decisions. Having the campaign promoted on the side of a bus stop will hopefully reach more of our target audience.
The WeTransfer Background
The Object-driven-poster as a WeTransfer background. The campaign reaching a digital space helps create further awareness around these scandals and is relevant to the viewer as Crypto is a digital currency.
The animated WeTransfer background in both black & white, and in colour.
